The Hampton Arts Staff

Moving from Minneapolis, MN, Michael Young joined the Hampton Arts Staff as the Marketing Coordinator in October 2008. Michael grew up in northern Minnesota in a small mining town called Hibbing and later moved to Minneapolis to attend school but to also get involved in a larger music community. As Michael grew older and developed his talents on the guitar, the drive to play and perform music full-time eventually led Michael to tour the US and play in some of the most prestigious venues in the country, such as The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, The Knitting Factory in New York City, and even The American Theatre here in Hampton, which would eventually lead to his joining the theatre's staff. "After careful consideration and evaluation, I decided I wanted to take a step back from performing full-time, and if I had the choice of working at any of the venues I've played, The American Theatre would certainly be towards or at the top of that list."
