KENNETH AND JIM
It is with great pleasure that we welcome
you to another great season of performances in the American Theatre
and exhibitions in The Charles H. Taylor Arts Center. Yet again,
we are cementing our reputation as a leader in the arts in Hampton
Roads and we wanted you to know it would not be possible without
your continued help, encouragement and support.
Hampton Arts enjoys an unrivaled reputation for the diversity and reach
of its year round programs. As we begin our sixth season of great performers
at the "intimately classy" American Theatre, we are actually
celebrating many other events. Hampton Arts this year will celebrate its
18th year of being a leader in the arts community and The Charles H. Taylor
celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2005.
Our educational and outreach programs in the schools, in the Theatre and
in the studios of the Arts Center continue to expand and now they reach
literally thousands of youngsters in our community. Many of these young
people are introduced to the arts for the first time through our efforts
and we are proud to be building a strong and responsive future audience
for the arts.
In order to maintain these impeccable standards, we need your support.
Our Annual Fund augments the generous support we are honored to receive
from the City of Hampton, the City of Newport News, the Virginia Commission
for the Arts, The Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation and many other public agencies
in the Mid Atlantic Region. In addition, we are proud to receive the support
and encouragement of many of our leading corporations and individuals.
Without their support, we could not be as effective and far reaching in
our community.
We urge you to consider joining the hundreds of contributors who make all
of this possible and we look forward to seeing you often at The American
Theatre and in the galleries and studios of The Charles H. Taylor Arts
Center during the coming year.
Thank you.
Sincerely yours,
Kenneth M. Krakaur
